Floor & Vault
Our Women's Floor and Vault Squad currently trains four hours per week on a Tuesday and Wednesday. This squad offers selected gymnasts the opportunity to improve their basic Gymnastic skills by training and competing on Floor and Vault
The Squad is coached by Karen Saunders.
Our training aims to develop the gymnasts all round core body strength, flexibility and coordination enabling them to perform new skills on both pieces of apparatus .
Gymnasts are able to compete within the County of Sussex from the beginning of the year in which they reach 8 years of age. They will then be entered into low level Floor and Vault competitions within Sussex throughout the year.
Alongside the gymnastics training we seek to develop a sense of team spirit and fun within the squad, encouraging the girls to support and appreciate each other's achievements.
With this in mind we have sought to inject some fun into our training programme, and have for the last 2 years entered the girls into the South-East Gym Fusion festival. This provides them the opportunity to showcase their skills in a fun, theatrical performance, without the pressure of competition. The festival brings together gymnasts from many other clubs and disciplines of all levels and is a fun day out for everyone who participates, from our gymnasts performing, the coaches and parents assisting with hair, costumes and make-up to our supportive spectators.
Please note that at Hawth Gymnastic our main disciplines are TeamGym and Men's Artistic; we do not have Women's Artistic Squads - we recommend that you visit our friends at Horsham Gymnastics Centre if this is what your child requires.
