Grades Qualifier (MAG)

21 March 2010 - Tolworth GC

This event decides who will represent the south-east region at the grades final in May. The top 6 from each group will go to Birmingham on the weekend of 15 May. 

There were 14 Hawth gymnasts appearing today, spread across 6 grades. All of the boys performed exceptionally well, amongst gymnasts of a very high standard from across the region.

Level 1

Harry Harrod and Kyah Ali were in this group. There were many very good gymnasts in this group today, and competition was fierce. The Hawth boys performed well, with Harry coming 5th (61.80) and Kyah coming very close behind in 6th (61.75). 

Also appearing today was Danny Ross-Horton, who is still too young to compete at national events. Danny was on top form today and scored 63.20; this won him the gold medal in the Under 8 age group.

Level 2

There are 4 gymnasts in this category from Hawth: Jordan Colyer, Patrick Smith, Marcus Jones and Archie Baker. Patrick came second with a score of 64.10, only 0.10 behind the winner. Jordan was fourth with 62.20, and Marcus was 5th with 62.00. These three qualify for the national finals. Archie has only been working Men's Artistic Gymnastics for three months, and this was his first competition with us. He score of 55.10, a fantastic achievement; this is a name to watch in the future.

Level 3

Michael Herridge won in this group with a score of 64.15. Not far behind In joint second place was Gus Fidler with 63.70. 

Level 4

Daniel Lee from Hawth won this group with a score of 63.10. Ben Vye-Parminter was second with a score of 61.95. 

Level 5

Max Hayes competed against Callum Lelliot (Brighton & Hove) today. There was not a lot between the two friends; Callum was first with 54.25 and Max came second with 54.00.

Level 6

Grant Goode won this group with a score of 50.90.
