British Championships (MAG)

30 October - 1 November 2009

The British Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held at Goresbrook Leisure Centre, Dagenham. It was a three day event, with an incredibly high standard of gymnastics.

Under 12

This group had 63 entries. Daniel Lee and Max Hayes represented Hawth GC. This is the first time either of these two have entered this event, but they did not let nerves get the better of them.

Daniel had a tidy floor routine, he scored 12.5 and came 7th. He gained the bronze medal on rings with a score of 11.75. Overall Daniel scored 61.45, which placed him 37th.

Max was 8th on rings with a score of 11.45. A very nice straight Tsukahara on vault scored him 13.10 (9th). Overall, Max scored 60.80, coming just behind Daniel in 39th place.

Under 18

Anthony O'Donnell represented Hawth GC in this category, where there was some incredible gymnastics.

On floor a few bounced landing, and a foot outside the floor area placed him came 5th (12.95). On pommels he came 8th with 11.0. Rings scored him 13.15 and placed him 4th.

He performed 2 vaults; handspring straight front (14.35) and straight Tsukahara (13.90). These scores were enough for silver. Parallel bars was very tidy, 13.0 and fourth. On High bar he scored 12.55, which gave him the bronze medal.

Overall he was fourth with a score of 77.0.
