On 13th September 2015 16 boys from Hawth's Men;s Artistic squads traveled to Pegasus Gymnastics in Kent to compete in the South East Grades Qualifiers. At this competition the gymnasts perform set routines and compete against boys from all over the region (South East) for the chance to represent SE at the Grades Finals in November.
In Club Level 1 competition James came out on top with a score of 61.70, he brought home a gold medal and will be part of a team of 6 South East gymnasts competing at the finals.
Hawth had 3 gymnasts competing at Club Level 2, Reece finished in 3rd place with 62.05, Frank in 5th with 58.00 and Makai in 7th with 55.45. Reece and Frank will be representing the South East in November.
Spaces in the South East team become harder to earn at Club Level 3 where only the top 5 gymnasts make the team but this did not stop Adam (2nd place with 60.80) and Jake (5th place with 57.90) from claiming their places.
Ciaran was our only competitor in Club Level 4, he finished 3rd with a score of 51.75 and will be joining his teammates at the finals.
In the afternoon round it was the turn of our Club Level 5 gymnasts to compete, Louis finished 1st with a fantastic score of 62.80 out of a possible 70.00 and Mark finished 2nd with a score of 59.15. Both boys will be going to the finals.
The final Club Level category of the day was Club Level 6, where Tom took the gold medal with a score of 62.25, Karl finished in 2nd place with a score of 59.60 and Cameron finished 4th with 34.90 - the 3 boys will make up 3/4 of the South East team for the Grades Finals.
The final rounds of the day saw our Elite Level gymnasts compete, with the first being Linus who finished 3rd with a score of (68.15) in Elite Level 2. Anton (66.90) and Cody (65.775) finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the Elite Level 3 competition and Harry (36.95) took the silver in the Elite Level 6 category. All 4 of Hawth's Elite competitors will be going to the finals.
Finally in a fantastic end to an already very successful day, Hawth Gymnastics was awarded the President's Cup for excellence in Men's Artistic to recognise the results they have achieved at South East competitions this year! Well done to all the boys who competed at the weekend, and to their hard working coaches Richard, Tim and Josh. All the best of luck to the 15 boys who are going to finals.
Due to the extremely high demand for places in our recreational (junior) classes we are closing our waiting list to new people from September 2015.
We have not removed anyone from the waiting list, and we will continue to work through the current list and get people in to spaces as quickly as possible.

This news update is long overdue. But as you will see if you read on... we have been rather busy! Summer is usually a quiet time for Hawth, but with a reshuffled competition calendar for 2015 we have a large number of successes to report.
Hawth hosted this competition and it was great success - many thanks to all our coaches, judges, academy coaches and parents.
In the Men's artistic gymnast had a great competition, winning every category they entered, our TeamGym gymnasts also brought home a large number of medals. We also had girls representing Hawth in the Floor and Vault competition where Holly won a Silver. Well done guys!
TeamGym British Championships
Hawth had 4 full teams and a micro team travel up to Liverpool for the British Championships. After a nightmare drive up on the Friday the teams performed well and brought home a set of Bronze and a set of Silver Medals.
Zonal & National Squad Training
Our gymnasts who have been selected for Zonal TeamGym (Jake R and Kanisha S) and National Men's Artistic (Anton A) squads have all attended training camps over the summer and worked very hard and gained some new skills, everyone at Hawth is very proud of them. Chloe W, who was injured for the initial trail session for the TeamGym squad, was offered a last minute trial after being spotted by the zonal coaches at the British Championships, she was accepted and is now a member of the squad along with Jake and Kanisha - well done Chloe!
Level 4 Coaches
After a year of courses, log books and study Tim G has passed both the practical and theory parts of his Level 4 (Senior coach) Men's Artistic course. Well done Tim!
Amber SW and Kim J have also recently spent the weekend in Crewe working towards their Level 4 TeamGym coaching course and we have 5 coaches (Karen B, Cheyenne H, Emma D, Amy H & Warren J) taking their Level 2 exams next term too
The constant development of our coaches is very exciting for the club and all our gymnasts present and future.
