Hawth Gymnastics offers our younger adults (age 12 +) the opportunity to become part of our club structure in many different ways
Intro Courses: British Gymnastics Programme of Workshops:
- Intro to Volunteering
- Intro to Coaching
- Intro to Judging
- Intro to Events
With all four workshops the learners will achieve a First 4 Sport level two award in leadership through gymnastics. Learners must be 14 to be eligible for the First 4 Sport award but can attend the course from age 12.
Proficiency Award Coach: British Gymnastics Level 0 Coaching Award:
This practical course teaches young coaches to lead warm-ups and assist other coaches to deliver and assess the British Gymnastics Proficiency awards.
Coaching: working alongside our qualified coaches to learn the basics of coaching
Volunteering: at club / county / regional and national events. This includes jobs such as setting up / providing refreshments / registration / door entry etc.
Social Events: Help our Parent Network Group with organising social and fund raising events
If /when they want to, our academy coaches can progress to a British Gymnastics Level One coaching course with the expert guidance from our mentor coaches. Attendees must be 16 to do this course which consists of a three full days of learning, a log book and a practical assessment.
Some of our success stories so far;
Started as an academy coach at 15, achieved a Level One qualification at 16 and now at 18 is working for Hawth Gymnastics full time. He will be attending his Level Two qualification in TeamGym very soon.
Started coaching with us at 15 years old and gained her Level One aged 16. Kanisha is now working with both recreational and squad gymnasts. She also attended an Intro Course for Volunteering at a South East Regional conference.
Tom started volunteering with us at 14. Tom has attended all the 'Intro to' courses and has recently finished his Level One coaching course in Team Gym.
